My knitting guild participates in the 57th street art fair every year, and this time I've been asked to create a set of pricing guidelines for the members. It seems that, in previous years, they've seriously undervalued their goods for sale. It's not surprising, given that many knitters see what they do as just a hobby, not an art form. I don't want to get into a discussion of the difference between art and craft, but if you've put your heart, soul, and talent into creating something beautiful, then you should value it and expect others to do the same.
