I've been working steadily on the Estonian lace scarf, but it doesn't seem as if I've made any progress. I think I'm in what Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (aka, The Yarn Harlot) would call "the knitting black hole." You're in the black hole when you knit forever without making any measureable progress, but then somehow you suddenly emerge from the black hole to find that your knitting has inexplicably doubled overnight. The physics of this is beyond me, but I think she's onto something.
Part of my problem is that my summer book group has resumed, and I'm trying to squeeze in time to read, too. I can't read while working on this lace scarf, unfortunately, because it requires counting. But it does look lovely. I'm taking pictures, and when it's all done, I'm going to try to post them (if I can figure out how to do it).
I'm still working on the circular baby blanket. That's what I knit while I'm reading for my book group. Sometimes it's nice to just veg out with a simple (or even simple-minded) pattern that requires no counting or attention at all. I'm making more progress on it than I am the scarf right now. Somehow I don't think I'll be the winner of the Knitting World Cup. Ah, well...
