It's Over, But Not Finished

So Italy won the World Cup, but I will not be a winner of the Knitting World Cup. I mean, I could've gone ahead and bound off that scarf, but it's not nearly long enough, and it still needs to be blocked. Ah, well. It was an interesting exercise, and I'm glad I participated. I'm even more glad that it's over. I felt a lot of pressure to keep working on that scarf even when I was heartily sick of it. Now I can work on some other things without feeling guilt. In particular, I need to finish the Clapotis scarf and continue working on my Anatolian mittens. Gotta keep my hands warm next winter...

Hubby was happy about Italy winning but I wasn't...oh well... I'm glad I participated too. I might not have attempted the socks without it! Be glad when the needles I order some in and I can have another go at finishing them! I've still resisted the Clapoti...though I'm tempted by the Frankenknits article in Knitty.com.

Dawn: You should definitely do the Clapotis. It's so lovely. I went to a meeting of the Windy City Knitting guild, and a woman there had done 2 of them--I was hooked!

Angie: The Anatolian mittens are from a book called "Folk Mittens." They are gorgeous, but the pattern is extremely difficult, so I can work on them only when I have quiet, uninterrupted time. Since I have 2 cats, I don't get such time very often. ;-)

Oh yes they love to be "helpful" and sit on the yarn, the pattern etc .When Holly was first home-educated I used a blacboard on my desk and Tom would get up turn round and round thus wiping off every bit of writing ..sigh !

HA! Yes, cats can be challenging. Still, I wouldn't want to live without them.
