I Must Be Crazy

A former co-worker has asked me to knit her a shrug to wear to her wedding--in three weeks! It's a fairly easy pattern, though, so I'm hoping it won't turn into a debacle. Here is the link to the pattern, if you're curious:
http://peonyknits.blogspot.com/2005/11/anthropologie-inspired-capelet-fo-and.html. We're using a yarn that's a little thinner but has that mohair "bloom" so it should be a little more open and lacy than the one at Peony Knits. I guess this answers the question of what my next project should be. You may be wondering why I would take on such a project with so little time left. It's simple: I need the money. This baby needs some new shoes (seriously).

In other news, I went to the meeting of the Windy City Knitting Guild on Tuesday. It was a very positive experience, much different than the meetings at that other guild. Everyone is actually focused on knitting, not just eating and gossiping. And they're all so talented and knit the most beautiful items. If I'm going to continue with a guild, I think it's going to be that one. The other one is just too stressful.

That's it for now. Good luck and good knitting!

You'll be able to do that easy! It is pretty. I'm glad you found a better guild. I think it is important to get with others and have a good time, but still actually be inspired by others! Did you go to the renegade fair at Wicker Park?

Dawn: The only thing that concerns me about the shrug is that she wants a few "minor adjustments" made to it. *eek* Yes, I did got to the Renegade Craft Fair and wasn't terribly impressed. Too much of the merchandise looked the same to me. I mean, how many T-shirt vendors does one craft fair really need?

ATWWK: Shoes are ridiculous! Especially since I need sturdy ones, not the cheapy ones you can get at Payless. ;-)
