Went to the Civic Opera to see "Iphigenie" last night. The music was great, but the staging was terrible. The sets and costumes were black, and the choreography was just creepy. Luckily, I had bought the cheapest ticket they have, so it's not as if I was out a lot of money. During the intermission, I pulled out a scarf I'm making and did a little work on it. I was there by myself, so I had no one to talk to anyway. This older woman in the seat next to me started asking me questions about it and mentioned that she's taking a crochet class through the Chicago park district this weekend. I told her that I'd like to learn to crochet better, too, because they have a lot of great crochet patterns now that weren't available even a few years ago. The craft has come a long way. If I see her again, I'm going to ask her what she thought of her class. Maybe we can work on our projects together during the intermission. I just hope the set for the next opera has some color and life in it. Yeesh.
