I finished my co-worker's Eternity Shawl and returned it to her at the end of last week, but I forgot to take a picture of it before I delivered it. D'oh! I need to make a note to myself to take my camera to work. She wears it almost every day, so it wouldn't be a big deal to get a picture of it. She also mentioned that not only did her husband notice and admire the shawl, his brother really liked it and is considering asking me to make one for his wife. If he follows through on it, I'll definitely post about it.

I started the rust-red chenille jacket for myself and am making good progress. It's funny how quickly a project can go when you work on it without interruption. My goal is to be able to wear it at least once before the end of the winter. It's going to be far too heavy for warmer weather.

Here's the most exciting thing that happened to me this week: Thursday night I went to a friend's birthday party, and I wore my Clapotis scarf, which was greatly admired by several of the female guests. A couple of them asked for my card because they'd like to have scarves made for themselves; one of the women also expressed interest in getting private lessons from me. Also among the guests was one of my friend's co-workers, who happens to be a costume designer. In fact, she designed the costumes for a production of "The Snow Queen," which I saw a week ago today at the Victory Gardens Theater. She also admired my Clapotis scarf, and so I showed her my Anatolian mittens, and she was even more impressed by the workmanship. Then she asked if I ever do work on commission and wanted my business card, just in case she ever needs some knitted items for her costumes. It may be tacky to network at a birthday party, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to potentially work with a really talented designer like her.

That's all for this week. Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks to both of you! I've had people ask for my card before, and they never follow through with it, so I don't have my hopes too high. But it's still exciting to think about the possibilities.
