At long last, here is the Elizabeth Zimmerman tomten jacket I made for my nephew's first birthday.
I changed my mind and decided not to use the green Cascade 228 I bought for this jacket. Instead I used some wool I already had in my stash: black Nature Spun by Brown Sheep and gray Merino Classic by Patons. The lime green yarn I used for the hood cord was left over from the Baby Surprise jacket I made when my nephew was born. The buttons are from Jo-Ann Fabrics. Since my nephew loves the water, I thought fish buttons would be appropriate, and the tropical colors really pop against the somber colors of the jacket. The jacket is way too big for my little boy, but he'll grow into it soon enough.
