Temporary Work Stoppage

This aspirational blanket is out of control. It almost covers my full-size bed. I got up on a stepladder and still couldn't get the whole thing in a photo.

It's approximately 53 x 64 inches at this point and is incredibly warm and heavy on my lap when I work on it. So I'm setting it aside until cooler weather arrives and it's not so uncomfortable to work on it.

In the meantime, my nephew has long outgrown the crib-sized log cabin blanket I made when he was born, so I'm going to make him the same blanket I'm making for myself, but with a different color scheme.

This is another Knit Picks yarn, Swish DK. The colors are, from left to right, Whirlpool, Beach Glass, Mist, and Storm. I think it will make a great "big-boy" blanket that he can use for years to come. I'd like to get it done in time for Christmas, so I've got to get cracking.

your blanket is huge, and i love the colors. the weather's changing fast so you'll be using it in no time.

a few people in my knit group are also knitting the log cabin blanket. it's so easy, soothing and fun to knit.

I love log cabin blankets. You're right that they're easy and soothing. Yards and yard of garter stitch makes for great TV knitting because I don't even have to look at it.
