Clearly, Something Is Wrong With Me

Last week I was in Toronto and I made a point of visiting two yarn stores while I was there. Guess what I bought? Absolutely nothing. Nada, zip, zilch. Nothing really appealed to me. Isn't that weird? I can't remember the last time I walked into a yarn store and walked out without purchasing anything. And whenever I travel, I like to engage in a little fiber tourism and buy some local yarns. I still have yarn I bought in Dublin 3 years ago that I haven't used yet, and I was planning to add some Canadian yarn to the stash. This week I printed out my birthday coupon from my local yarn store and went there with every intention of getting something, not because I had a particular project in mind, but just because I wanted to use the coupon and splurge a little for my birthday. Guess what I bought? NOTHING. Seriously, what is going on here? Is this a sign of the apocalypse? Well, don't panic yet, because yesterday I bought my ticket to the yarn market at Vogue Knitting Live, which will be at the Chicago Hilton 2 weeks from today. There will be 70 top-notch vendors there, with amazing hand-spun, hand-dyed yarn that isn't sold in retail stores. Surely I should be able to find at least one thing I like there. If not, then I really will start to worry that I'm coming down with something.
