New Books, New Projects

I've acquired some new knitting and crocheting books lately. Some friends gave me an Amazon gift card and I used it to buy this one from Arne & Carlos. I'm excited to sit down and take a look at it tonight. I also ordered a book of crocheted dishcloth patterns but it hasn't arrived yet.

Both of these books were birthday gifts from a friend. All the patterns in this book are extremely colorful and fun, but I'm especially excited to try my hand at crocheting some of the Christmas ornaments.

I got this one because, although I love a challenge, once in a while I want something easy to make, and this book has some easy but gorgeous patterns.

Finally, the first of the Mason-Dixon field guides arrived in my mailbox today. I love this concept of a series of small knitting books each on a separate topic. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

I've been working on two new projects, one knit and one crochet.  This crocheted cowl is made with some Knit Picks Capretta yarn I had in the stash.

This lace scarf is knitted with the gradient yarn I got from Fiber Optic Yarn at the Wisconsin Sheep & Wool festival last month.

I've been switching back and forth between the two projects depending on my mood or whenever I get bored with what I'm working on. Now I just wish it would get cool so I could start wearing all this stuff I'm making. This fall has been way too warm. It was 80 degrees today! This weather is ridiculous.
