Christmas Knitting Continued and a Baby Blanket

I finished that scarf for my friend. I think it's quite handsome.

Hope he likes it. Men can be persnickety about clothes sometimes.

I also started knitting a candy-cane hat for a friend's little girl. It's her first Christmas so I wanted to make her something special.

Of course, now it occurs to me that I might have to make something for her older siblings, too, so they don't get jealous. I'll have to give it some thought.

My nephew's mom recently got married and she's already expecting a baby, so I'm going to make a blanket with this yarn.

She isn't due until next June, though, so I'm setting aside the yarn until after I'm done with my Christmas gifts. This is going to be a big adjustment for my nephew. He'll be nearly 10 by the time his half-sibling is born. It will be interesting to see the dynamic between them, given the big age gap.

Since I have so much time, I may even make another prayer shawl before I start the baby blanket. I heard from the ladies at church who are organizing the prayer shawl ministry that a couple of our shawls have been given out and were very well received. The pastor is really happy about the ministry and wants us to continue it. It's always gratifying to know that your work is appreciated.
