The Spoils of Yarn Con 2017

I went to Yarn Con last weekend. It gets bigger and better every year. It's always a good time. I met up with a couple of friends and enjoyed catching up with them. Of course, I also enjoyed buying some yarn.

I haven't decided what to do with the yarn on the left. It's a Halo Bundle of two different yarns, one by Hand Maiden Yarn and Fleece Artist. The vendor gave me a free shawl pattern but I don't know if I'll use that or something else.

The yarn on the right is Ringmaster by Knit Circus in the color way Cindy Lou who. I used it to make a sweater for my nephew's little sister. I started it last Saturday and finished it by Tuesday.

Isn't that adorable? The pattern is In Threes by Kelly Herdrich. I will definitely be making this one again for future babies.

Once the whirlwind of making the baby sweater was over, I decided to unravel a scarf that I never finished and reknit the yarn as a cowl. So far, I'm liking the cowl much better.

I should have abandoned ship on that scarf ages ago. It wasn't fun to knit and I didn't like how it looked. Sometimes you have to be quiet and listen to the yarn and let it tell you what it wants to be. I know that sounds all mystical and woo-woo, but I'm learning that these things aren't always logical.
