Two Shawls

I've mentioned before that my church has a prayer shawl ministry now. I've made 4 or 5 shawls for it (I've lost count). This is the latest one.

I made it with some alpaca blend yarn I got in the sale bin at a yarn store in Geneva, IL. It's very soft and cozy. I hope it brings comfort to whoever receives it.

The second shawl is one I made for myself. I'm calling it my Harry Potter shawl because the colors are all the Hogwarts house colors.

The yarn is the wizard mini-skein set from Brew City yarns. I bought it at Stitches Midwest. I found a simple triangle pattern on Ravelry and just knit with each mini-skein until I ran out of yarn.

I'm currently working on a cowl using some leftover sock yarn. If it turns out well, I'll give it to a friend for her birthday. After that, I have to start Christmas knitting. I plan to make a Christmas stocking for my nephew's baby sister. I'll probably make her a hat, too. If I have time, I want to make her a knitted chicken doll, since she was born in the year of the Rooster.
