All My Spring Knitting

I can't believe I haven't blogged in over 2 months. I've been working on some big projects that took a long time. One of them is still top secret so I can't share it just yet. However, I can share my new sweater.

I needed something to wear to an upcoming wedding and couldn't find anything I liked, so I made a lace sweater using CotLin yarn from Knit Picks. The design is my own. I'm happy with how it turned out and am excited to wear it to my friend's wedding next weekend.

Last month I went to Peru to visit friends, and while I was there, I worked on a pair of socks. They're the perfect travel project because they fit in even the smallest of bags.

It's so satisfying when I can get the stripes to line up perfectly like that. Again, the yarn is from Knit Picks, the self-striping sock yarn Felici.

Of course, I couldn't go to Peru without buying some alpaca yarn. I found this lovely stuff from Sol Alpaca in the gift shop of the Amano Pre-Columbian Textile Museum in Lima.

If you are ever in Lima, do not pass up this museum. It is an absolute gem, especially for those of us who love fibers and textiles. I only had room in my bag for 2 balls, so it will probably end up being a cowl or scarf.
