Wedding Afghan, Weaving, and a Long Overdue Scarf

At long last, I can unveil the secret project I was working on all spring: an afghan I made as a wedding present for a dear friend.

As you can see, Piglet had to do one last quality control inspection before she would let it leave the house. The yarn is Mighty Stitch Bulky by Knit Picks in the colors mint and navy. I had a hard time letting this afghan go because I like it so much. I think I need to get some more yarn and make one for myself.

Using that yarn I bought in Peru inspired me to dig out this Studio Donegal yarn from my stash that I bought in Ireland in 2009.

I only had 3 skeins so I made a scarf. I wish I had bought more at the time and I feel bad that I let it languish in the stash for so long.

Finally, I finished my first weaving project for that class I'm taking. It's OK for a first effort.

I just started on my second project and we have our final class next week, so we'll see how that turns out.
