Recent Yarn Purchases

I went with a friend to Yarnify in Chicago's south loop so she could get yarn to make a baby blanket for her nephew and his wife, who are expecting their first baby. I wasn't going to buy anything, but you know how that goes. I am a sucker for a pretty gradient.

Last weekend 2 friends and I visited Galena, IL, a pretty town in the far northwest corner of the state, close to the Mississippi River. I have lived in this state my whole life and had never gone. The downtown area is very cute, with well-maintained historic buildings. Tucked into the back of another store is a very small yarn store, The Stitching Hour. I got a copy of "Knitting for Radical Self-Care" by Brandi Cheyenne Harper, which I have read great reviews of. I look forward to reading it.

I also bought yarn, of course, one of those Zauerball skeins.

I have no idea what I'll do with it yet. I just liked the colors. I could use some more socks, to be honest, and I believe it is intended to be sock yarn.
