Elizabeth Zimmerman's Pi Are Square Shawl

I've been wanting to make one of these shawls for years, ever since I saw it in Elizabeth Zimmerman's book, "Knitting Around." It's such an interesting design, with a round back and square front. It took me ages to wrap my head around the construction, but once it clicked, I had a lot of fun making it.

This is the round back.

And this is how it looks wrapped around me.

The yarn is from Swans Island. It's 2 different coordinating colors, one solid and one ombre. I did a crochet edging because I was running out of yarn and couldn't do the deep saw-tooth border I really wanted. Next time I'll know that I need a lot more yarn for that border.

Now I need to finish a Shakerag Top I started last year. I may run out of yarn for that project, too. I seem to be losing at yarn chicken these days.
