Final Post of 2023: Lemons and Gold

A lot of people don't like the color yellow. It's true that it doesn't look good on everyone, and it can be tricky to pair with other colors. A good friend of mine loves yellow and has a beautiful lemon yellow cardigan that looks amazing on her. When I started knitting this shawl, I wasn't sure if I would keep it for myself or give it away, but as it came together and I realized how prominent the yellow is, I knew it had to be for this particular friend.

I love the progression of colors and that big band of pink near the bottom. Here are the 2 gradients I striped together.

They were the last 2 skeins of Stroll gradient I had from Knit Picks. I'm still sad that they discontinued this yarn. I've made some gorgeous things out of it.

My friend loved the shawl and is so excited to use it. I am just happy I finished it in time to give it to her today. I finished knitting the border yesterday during my lunch break and then blocked it after dinner.

My nephew really liked the hats I made for his sister and requested one of his own. As I'm waiting for him to send me his head measurement, I started a little scarf for myself. I don't need another one, of course, but when did that ever stop me?

I guess that's it for 2023. I'm keeping my expectations for 2024 low to avoid disappointment. This meme I saw online pretty much sums up the last several years for me.
